Third Test Post - Minimalism in Design
Minimalism isn’t about having less. It’s about removing everything that doesn’t serve the purpose.
In design, this means:
- Typography matters more when you can’t hide behind visual tricks
- Whitespace becomes active rather than just empty
- Every element must justify its existence
The minimalist aesthetic isn’t a style choice—it’s a commitment to clarity. When you strip away decoration, what remains must be strong enough to stand on its own.
Example: This Site
This blog embraces minimalism:
- No JavaScript (except for essential features like MathJax)
- No tracking or analytics
- No distracting sidebars or widgets
- Clean typography with IBM Plex Mono
- Generous line spacing and margins
The result? Content that breathes. Ideas that have room to resonate.
When there’s nothing to hide behind, the writing has to be good.
